The First Japan Immersion Programme curated by India Japan Laboratory of Keio University for the 39 students of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode have lecture sessions and experiential learnings for two main themes: Disaster Management and Waste Management.
For the lectures and site visits for the theme of Waste Management, Mr. Kazuhiko Wakabayashi of Yokohama India Center arranged our visit to a municipality-run waste management facility and a private waste management facility in the City of Yokohama. Dr. Anupam Das of IIMK, Ms. Tomo Kawane, Senior Researcher of IJL, Ms. Anuska Roy, Member of IJL, and Mr. Yujiro Yahata (M.Sc 1st year, Hiyoshi Campus of Keio University) attended the visit. Ms. Takako Oka, a consultant, and Ms. Tomo Kawane guided the students on site.
Totsuka Shigen Senbetsu Center (City of Yokohama) : lectures and facility visit
Ms. Tamaki Ishida of Policy Coordination Section of Resource Circuration Department of the City of Yokohama guided us along with Mr. Yutaka Usui who is in-charge of Totsuka Shigen Senbetsu Center to visit the waste management sites at their facility.
At GUUN Co. Ltd., Mr. Norio Ishida and Mr. Leminh of Blue Economy Research Institute of the company and all the staff of the waste management facility guided us to have a fruitful visit. The participants could have learning sessions and are grateful for all the people engaged in helping to organize these visits.
