The First Japan Immersion Programme curated by India Japan Laboratory of Keio University for the 39 students of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode have lecture sessions and experiential learnings for two main themes: Disaster Management and Waste Management.
For the lectures and site visits for the theme of Disaster Management, Professor Rajib Shaw gave his lecture on disaster management to IIMK as well as Keio participants on 7th May at Mita Campus of Keio University.
Subsequently, on 12th February 2024, IIMK Students led by Dr. Anupam Das visited the Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park and welcomed by Mr. Ryuichi Hasebe and his team. Ms. Tomo Kawane, Senior Researcher at IJL coordinated the visit. Mr. Yujiro Yahata of M.Sc 1st year at Hiyoshi Campus of Keio University who hails from Fukushima facilitated their experiential learning of self-survival methods for the first 72 hours after the disasters.
